Fall into single file lines like Army Ants

Some interesting news today.

LucasArts is apparently developing a game based off the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series exclusively for Wii and DS. So it's nice that Wii is getting more support, and hopefully this title will fall into the "hardcore" audience. It was revealed on the back of the Lego Indiana Jones manual by IGN. So there is another title to look forward too this year.

I'm still eagerly awaiting screens and/or videos of Factor 5's Wii project. After going on the IGN boards and discussing some things about Wii's graphical powers and such, I really want to see what the Wii is capable of. And I always wondered, every time a Wii game comes out and it doesn't look the greatest, people, including myself, wind up saying "It looks like a PS2 game! Lazy developers, Wii is stronger then that!" Sometimes I wonder, are we over estimating the console? I mean, what happens when a title comes out, and it pushes the Wii as hard as it can, and we are still not satisfied? The only way to see what Wii is really capable of is probably through Factor 5's title. Julian Eggebrecht, president of Factor 5 seems to know the Wii hardware very well, and according too this interview, he knows how to make a good looking realistic title.

Well, I guess that ends the graphic whore-ness for this post. It does seem that developers are starting to realize that Wii has more power the most think, and with games like The Conduit coming, and Factor 5's Wii Project, aka Kid Icarus, we may finally see what Wii is capable of.

I should probably be off now. I must wake up early to go job hunting. I guess this is where I think of a cheesy crappy line that involves my name.... Enjoy your Daily Dosage of Durf!

The fuel to the fire, the weapons of war.

First off is an article that has gotten very surprising amount of views. Ubisoft held their Ubidays press conference in Paris, and it wasn't anything but a disappointment for Wii owners.

Sure, I guess it's cool that Shaun White's Snow Boarding is coming to Wii. It's not a title I'm looking forward too, but it's cool. Sure, I guess it's cool that Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 is coming with Balance Board support. It seems like it's becoming a cash-in series, but what ever. Sure, it's cool that Imagine Babyz.... what the hell is this crap? Imagine: Party Babyz? This is where I draw the line for trash cash games that have been flooding the Wii. Just when I thought the trash cash kiddie games couldn't get worse, they somehow do. Oh yeah, Dogz is coming too. Seriously. Where is Red Steel 2? I actually went back and played some Red Steel 1 earlier, and minus the horrible sword fighting, I really enjoyed it, and nothing would be better then for Ubisoft to show off the sequel. But no, we get Party Babyz!

I probably should have just pasted the original article here, or in fact, took the time to write what I just wrote in this blog. But click the link below to check out the original article.

Slow news days

As cool as today was, it happened to be Memorial Day, which means everyone was off from work, school, etc. And as cool as it was to have the day off, absolutely no news was posted for Wii.

But hopefully, there will be a bright side. Wednesday morning is Ubisofts Ubidays, which is basically their Gamers Day event. It's being held in Paris, which also happen's to be where Red Steel 2 may be being developed. So could we finally see something of Red Steel 2 at Ubidays? Who is going to give us the news on it? Sadly, no one from Wii Live is going to Paris. But hopefully someone from IGN will. And if not, then it looks like I must rely on GameSpot as a source.

Don't get me wrong, I like the GameSpot community. I like how the blogs and boards are set up, and it really feels like a community. But everything else sucks. The news, the whole format of the site, the writers, it just doesn't feel user friendly at all to me. Hopefully, if CBS does in fact buy out CNet, there will be a complete overhaul of GameSpot. Different layout, design, news, the whole site format, and please new writers. Of course, this may end up changing the blogs and boards of GameSpot, but maybe it will be for the better.

By the way, sorry Trist. I know how much you like GameSpot!

Damnit!

My 360 an my Wii switch off with each other from being my mina gaming device. Depending on what game is on that console, is what one I will be playing. I played tons of Brawl (over 100 hours in a a little over a week), and Mario Kart Wii. Seeing as I spent so much time with those two titles, it was time for me to switch back to my 360. I spent a good 30 hours with GTA IV, playing it until I completed the main story line. And I haven't gone back to it since then. As a matter of fact, I haven't played my games in the past week. I have been playing some Call of Duty 4 for the past couple of days though, switching on and off with my friends and such.

One of my friends, who owns a PS3, and nothing else, decided to start playing BioShock. Now, BioShock has freezed on my 360 a couple of times on me before, but nothing since then. It hasn't freezed on my friend yet at all. Now, BioShock really isn't a very long game. My friend is playing through it on medium. And just about an hour ago, he is playing through it and bam, the whole screen is filled with green pixel's. I thought, "What the hell, if my TV's video card screwing with me?" I turn the video input to TV and other game inputs. I say to my friend, "Hit the guide button." The guide pops up, it too is all pixelated. I turn off my 360, and I turn it back on, I get ONE, i repeat, ONE red light, and a screen that says there is something wrong with the hardware, please call Xbox Customer Service.

Damnit, damn damn damn I say. I have had the Three Red Lights once before, and this was quite awhile ago. Now, this crap? This sucks! I just started to play my 360 more too.

Damn you Microsoft and your crap hardware! BioShock is a great looking game. But how good it looks, it doesn't matter if it is going to ruin the video card or GPU or whatever crapped out on the 360!

Top 5 Things Nintendo should announce at E3

Yep, another Wii Live Top 5 article. Funny thing about this article is that I woke up to this idea. I normally never ever dream or wake up in the thought of video games. Except once when I dreamed I played Brawl about 2 months before it launched. I seriously woke up, and said to myself, "Top 5 Things Nintendo will announce at E3!". And just like almost every other article I have written, I wrote it all up very late at night, and surprisingly, I wrote it up in a very short time.

I hope everyone likes the article, and please give any feedback possible.

Behold - The Conduit Trailer

I'm just going to jump right in on this. The main aspect of this trailer that everyone is talking about is the graphics. Now, I feel that they look pretty good, but some parts don't look to well. The main part that I feel makes a game look good is overall detail in certain aspects. When I see the brick walls and see how detailed the cracks and the lines in it are, then thats when I feel a game is looking good. And no, that doesn't just mean the wall only, it means when the whole game has this sort of detail.

The game looks like it will control well, and I feel it's going to be way better then Medal of Honor Heroes 2. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 was a good game, but it suffered from the major flaws that have been in almost every Medal of Honor game to date.

Hopefully the game will support online multi player. The end of the trailer above definitely gives hope that the game may have online, with one man saying "Mr. Ford. Death Match has been authorized." And Agent Ford replies, "It's about damn time."

Also, many people are saying this game reminds them of Perfect Dark. But to me, it reminds me of this game, which I doubt many people played.

More cel chaded violence on Wii

Mix Evil Dead with Bionic Commando to create your character, then throw it into a Sin City comic, and then throw some No More Heroes style in there. If I had to call it something, it would be Evil Bionic Sin Heroes. But thats now what it's called. It's called MadWorld, and it just looks flatout awesome.

You play as Jack, a man with a robotic arm (Bionic Commando), that can also form into a chain saw (Evil Dead). It is set in a Black and White world with the exception of the blood (Sin City). And it has a stylized cel shaded look (No More Heroes). And man, is it violent! Oh yeah, it's being done by the guy who made Resident Evil 4. That pretty much means this game has to be good.

Just take a look at the trailer below to see what I mean. WARNING: Once again, this game is very, very violent.

Introducing Wii Live Videos

I'm just gonna go ahead and paste what i already wrote for the Wii Live article, but with some edits. So here you go.

Yesterday is the day that Nintendo debuts their long awaited WiiWare service. But, yesterday is also the day Wii Live debuts Wii Live Videos!

Wii Live Videos is Wii Live’s YouTube channel, in which we will be posting direct footage from Wii games, along with video reviews, and more!

Seeing as WiiWare and Wii Live Videos are debuting on the same day, we are debuting Wii Live Videos with footage of the WiiWare title Lost Winds. It is a short clip, do to large file size, but expect longer videos, and better quality in the near future.

Mario Kart Wii Review

Wii Live's Mario Kart Wii review is up for everyone to view, and it would be cool is anyone who actually reads this could check it out.

Once again, thanks to Trist for correcting my grammar, I know it's not a big deal, but thanks anyways.

I'm going to say this right now

Grand Theft Auto IV is flat out overrated. Yes, I said it. GTA IV is a great game, don't get me wrong. But, I have my reasons for saying this.

N4G is a great site. It's a good site to read up on video game news, I even get some of the news I post on Wii Live from N4G (rmc does it too). I go on N4G a few times a day, but never have I seen the front page of N4G just completely full of news of one game. Almost all the news story's were about GTA IV. Seriously, just completely decked out in news about GTA. Now, go ahead and say what you will about any other game being overrated like Brawl or Galaxy, but seriously, this game has gotten perfect scores from sites like IGN and GameSpot, the only sites that rarely ever give out perfect scores.

Now, if it gets perfect scores from these sites, it must be good right? Well I decided if a game is going to get this much press, and this good of ratings, then I pretty much have no choice but to buy it. So, I broke down and bought it.

Now, I'm about 12 hours into the game, and it is a great game, but a 10? The game has already frozen on me over 15 times, both in single player and multi player. It's a fun game, with a great story, and I would say that the graphical update could have been better, but, journalists, and myself, have found that maybe it is becoming too realistic. They really can't make this game look any better without crossing the line between the virtual world and reality.

I have actually found myself in certain parts of the game where I actually thought I may like Saints Row more in certain aspects, which is hard to describe, but it's just the feeling I get.

So far, I don't feel the game is a 10, but it is good. Although I feel I enjoyed playing Brawl and Galaxy much more, it is still a great game.
